XVII International Conference on Hyperbolic Problems Theory, Numerics, Applications

Monday, June 25, 2018 - 4:45pm to Friday, June 29, 2018 - 4:45pm

The objective of the conference is to bring together scientists with interests in the theoretical, applied, and computational aspects of hyperbolic partial differential equations (systems of hyperbolic conservation laws, wave equations, etc.) and of related mathematical models (PDEs of mixed type, kinetic equations, nonlocal or/and discrete models, etc.).

The conference was first held 1986 in St. Etienne (France) and has been organized since then biennially at different locations. The last few meetings were held at:  2016 Aachen (Germany), 2014 Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), 2012 Padua (Italy), 2010 Beijing (China), 2008 College Park (U.S.A.), 2006 Lyon (France).

The conference consists of 45-minute plenary lectures and 45-minute invited lectures held in parallel, and of sessions of 20-minute contributed talks on various topics related to hyperbolic equations.

As has been done in the past, special effort will be made to provide partial funding to young scientists to enable them to attend the conference.

Hyp2018 is in cooperation with the Association for Women in Mathematics (AWM). This conference supports the Non-Discrimination Statement of the Association for Women in Mathematics.
