10 PhD Fellowships in Mathematics at GSSI L'Aquila ITALY
The Gran Sasso Science Institute (GSSI), founded in 2012 in L’Aquila (Italy) as Center for Advanced Studies of the National Institute for Nuclear Physics (INFN) and then established in March 2016 as a School of Advanced Studies (inside the Italian National University system) providing post-graduate education, offers 40 PhD fellowships for the academic year 2017/18.
The GSSI invites applications for 10 in “Mathematics in Natural, Social and Life Sciences” The official language for all PhD courses is English.
The fellowships are awarded for three years and their yearly amount is € 16.159,91 gross. All PhD students in addition will receive free accommodation at the GSSI facilities and free access at the school canteen.

The PhD program in Mathematics in Natural, Social and Life Sciences will focus on applications of PDEs (mainly dispersive equations and fluid dynamics), Stochastic methods, Statistical mechanics, Numerical methods, Mathematical models from Continuum Mechanics, Models in biology and Social sciences. A special attention will be devoted to interdisciplinary research.
