3 PhD-positions in Polish-German joint research project "Zeta functions of groups and dynamical systems"

3 PhD-positions in a joint Polish-German research project on "Zeta functions of groups and dynamical systems" will shortly be formally advertised, one each at Bielefeld University, the Heinrich-Heine-Universität Düsseldorf and the University of Szczezin.

The positions will enable the successful candidates to work towards a doctorate at the respective university, by contributing to the
above-mentioned research project, led by Professors Alexander Felshtyn (Szczezin), Benjamin Klopsch (Düsseldorf) and Christopher Voll (Bielefeld).

The project is financed by the Polish-German Funding Initiative "Beethoven 2", funded jointly by the Polish National Science Centre NCN and the German Research Council DFG.

All three positions are available for three years and require a Masters degree in pure mathematics.  Some experience in group theory,
algebraic topology, or (relevant topics of) number theory is desired. Relevant experience in zeta functions of groups and / or
dynamical systems will be an advantage, but is not essential.

Candidates for all three positions will be based at one of the three participating institutions, but should be open for collaboration and
joint research activities with the other members of the team, in particular travel between Germany and Poland and extended research
stays in the respective other country, as and when appropriate.
