Junior Group Leader Position in Mathematics
The Johann Radon Institute for Computational and Applied Mathematics (RICAM) of the Austrian Academy
of Sciences announces the opening of a
JUNIOR GROUP LEADER POSITION (F/M)
in the fields of Mathematical Data Sciences or Life Sciences for a fixed-term appointment of three years.
Requirements: Completed PhD degree in mathematics or a closely related field with strong background in
mathematics, and experience in publication and presentation of scientific results. In particular, the successful
candidate should fit one of the following profiles:
JUNIOR GROUP LEADER IN MATHEMATICAL DATA SCIENCES: We are looking for a promising researcher with
experience in mathematical analysis of a specific branch of data sciences, including learning theory and
predictive analytics. Experience with the interface to data-driven, dynamical systems based modeling is
JUNIOR GROUP LEADER IN LIFE SCIENCES: We are looking for a promising researcher with experience in
contributing to a deeper understanding of a specific challenge in medicine or in biology by mathematical
modeling and simulation. Collaboration with RICAM research groups and/or application driven groups is
We are looking for talented and self-motivated applicants with the capacity for leading a small team of
researchers. The working language is English.
Contract: We offer a full time employment (40 hours per week) for a yearly gross salary of € 51,955.40.
Depending on qualification and experience, the salary can be negotiated.
