PhD Scholarship Arithmetic Geometry, University Duisburg-Essen

The Department of Mathematics at the University of Duisburg-Essen offers a 3-year-scholarship for a PhD project to be conducted under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Jan Kohlhaase. Possible research topics include the representation theory of p-adic Lie groups, moduli spaces of p-divisible groups, p-adic Galois representations and the p-adic Langlands program.


Applicants are supposed to have completed or to be about to complete a master's program in mathematics with a strong focus on algebra, number theory or algebraic geometry.


Your application has to include a CV, transcripts of records, a short letter of motivation, a list of advanced math courses you attended, a copy of your master's thesis and a letter of recommendation from a permanent faculty member (preferably the advisor of your master's thesis).
