The Institute for Analysis and Numerics at the University of Münster invites applications for a
PhD student position

salary scale 13 TV-L / 75%)

in the group of Dr. Christian Seis. The position will start on the earliest possible date. The contract will be fixed-term for three years.

The regular weekly working time is 39 hours and 50 minutes. All posts can, as a rule, also be filled as part-time positions if there are no compelling work-related reasons against it.
The group investigates transport problems in the field of fluid dynamics. A possible PhD project focuses on the analysis of vortex motions and the interaction of vortex rings in ideal fluids described by the Euler equations.
The position comes with a regular teaching duty of 4 SWS (i.e., 4 hours per week during the term).

The successful candidate should hold a MSc or equivalent degree in Mathematics and should be interested in mathematical fluid dynamics. A strong background in partial differential equations is required.
