Post-doctoral Assistant

The Research Unit Applied Statistics (ASTAT) of the Institute of Statistics and Mathematical Methods in Economics, TU Wien, invites applications for a postdoctoral position in the area of high-dimensional Statistics to start in March 2018:

Responsibilities: The successful candidate is expected to conduct research in high dimensional and applied statistics and to lead a high quality research program and actively contribute to the research at the institute. S/he will be expected to contribute to the teaching mission of the ASTAT department giving support to courses in the Bachelor and Master´s program of Statistics and Mathematical Methods in Economics. The contract is for a period of 3 years, extendable up to
six years.

Qualifications: The successful candidate will hold a PhD and have an excellent research profile in Statistics, or a related field.

Other skills: Knowledge of German is desirable but not necessary.

Salary Range: The monthly minimum salary is currently (in the collective agreement §49 (3) Pay grade B1, Level 3) EUR 3.626,60 gross (14x per year). Prior experience may result in higher salary.
