Department of Mathematics
Professor and Reader
Competitive Salary Ref: 11127-088
5x Permanent Positions Available
As part of a major recruitment drive at all levels, the Mathematics Department invites applications for Reader (2 posts) or Professor (3 posts) in pure or applied mathematics. Candidates will have an internationally leading research profile, and be able to provide academic leadership in some area of mathematics. The Regius Professorship previously held by Martin Hairer is vacant, and outstanding candidates will also be considered for this post.
We encourage applications from candidates who are able to interact with a variety of disciplines within or outside mathematics. Applied areas of interest include, but are not limited to, mathematical modelling, numerical analysis and PDEs, inverse problems, data science or industrial mathematics.
We seek individuals with strong research programmes, who are also committed to teaching. Preference may be given to candidates with an independent research agenda who will: (i) complement existing strengths in the Department; (ii) bridge between existing areas of expertise within the Department; or (iii) strengthen mathematical connections with application areas.
Applicants who are only interested in the Professor posts should make this clear at the start of the Supporting Statement section on the application form. Your application should include a CV and list of publications. Applicants should arrange for three referees to send letters of recommendation to mathematicsPA@warwick.ac.uk before the closing date. Please note that it is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure that the reference letters are received by the closing date. The post reference number should be quoted in all correspondence.
