Research Fellow Position (Postdoctoral Scholar)

Position Title: Research Fellow (Postdoctoral Scholar)
Duties and Responsibilities:
We are seeking a motivated applicant with mathematical/statistical backgrounds to join an active research team led by Dr. Zhigang Yao. The work will involve developing novel theoretic and applied statistical methods for large scale problems. The postdoc will have opportunities to collaborate with Singapore Institute of Manufacturing Technology (SIMTech), a research institute of the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR). The postdoc will also have opportunities to collaborate with other researchers from Duke-NUS medical school, and Department of Statistics and Applied Probability at NUS. More details can be found at
Research topics fall within the scope of the translational data science research. Indicatively, these may include statistical machine learning, optimization and big data analytics with applications to real life problems. The position will be in the Department of Statistics and Applied Probability, in support of the Data Science initiatives of NUS. Programming experience in statistical program R and scripting languages such as Matlab is required.
