The School of Engineering Sciences carries out a wide range of research at the international front line, from fundamental disciplines such as Physics and Mathematics, to Engineering Mechanics with applications such as Aeronautics and Vehicle Engineering. We also offer university degree programs in Engineering Physics, Vehicle Engineering, and 'Open entrance', as well as a number of international masters programmes
Research and education at the division of mathematics. Education includes teaching and supervision on the bachelor, master and/or Ph.D. levels. The associate professor must be able to teach in English at the time of employment and in Swedish within two years.
Eligibility for appointment as an associate professor is reserved for persons who have:
1. obtained their doctorate degree or have the equivalent academic expertise, or have other professional skills that are relevant to the subject field concerned by the position and the required duties,
2. shown teaching expertise
The assessment criteria for appointment as an associate professor at KTH shall be the degree of expertise required as a qualification for employment. In addition, the assessment criteria stated in the KTH appointments procedure, appendix 2, apply in relation to the employment profile laid down.
Of highest importance are the scientific skills of the applicant within the subject of mathematics. The scientific skills must be shown by publication in international journals of high quality. Of highest importance are also the pedagogical skills within mathematics, including the ability to plan, lead and implement education on the bachelor, master and PhD levels.
It is also important that the applicant has expertise in developing and leading activities and personnel; this includes having knowledge about matters of diversity and equal treatment, with particular focus on gender equality. It is important to have administrative capability and ability to collaborate with and spread information about research and development work to the surrounding society as well as interpersonal skills.
