Two University Assistant (Postdoc) Positions, University of Vienna

The Faculty of Mathematics of the University of Vienna invites applications for two University Assistant (postdoc) positions associated with the chair for Numerics of Partial Differential Equations of Prof. Ilaria Perugia. The positions are available from January 1st, 2019; the duration of employment is three years.

We are looking for two highly qualified researchers with special interests in Numerical Methods for Partial Differential Equations. Topics of current interest to the group include standard and non standard finite element methods with application to wave propagation problems. The job holders' responsibilities include independent research, holding classes, and the usual administrative duties. A Doctoral degree/PhD or similar qualification in mathematics is required for all candidates, as well as experience in teaching and research. Past research should be documented by publications in recognized scientific journals. Applicants are suggested to apply for both positions.
