Stephen Hawking passed away

Stephen William Hawking, Director of Research at the Centre for Theoretical Cosmology of the University of Cambridge, died on 14 March 2018, at the age of 76. He worked on gravitational singularity theorems in the framework of general relativity and did the theoretical prediction that black holes emit radiation, often called Hawking radiation. He did very much to publicise scientific ideas, and to inspire future generations of scientists.
