TENURE TRACK OR TENURED POSITION IN APPLIED MATHEMATICS
The position is located in the Department of Mathematics and Systems Analysis. Based on the experience and merits, the selected candidate may be appointed to any of the three levels of Aalto tenure track for professors.
The main research fields of the department are mathematical analysis, numerical analysis, stochastics, discrete mathematics and systems and operations research, see math.aalto.fi/en/. The appointed candidate is expected to enlarge and strengthen the research profile of the department in the field of stochastics. The position includes teaching duties.
Throughout their careers, those in the academic tenure track system are expected to exercise and guide scientific research, to provide related higher academic education, to follow the advances of their field, to participate in the service to the Aalto University community, and to take part in professional interaction in the society and international collaboration in their field. The applicants will be reviewed on the basis of their research and teaching, academic leadership and activity in the scientific community.
The applicants are expected to hold a doctoral degree in a relevant field and should show outstanding promise and/or accomplishments in both research and teaching. Experience in practical applications is appreciated.
Aalto University follows the salary system of Finnish universities, but the applicants may also provide a salary requirement.
