ETH Zurich together with IBM Research Labs Zurich have three openings for PhD positions in the field computational systems biology.
The PhD topics may involve statistical inference of states and parameters for stochastic kinetic models, network structure learning from high-throughput data, novel spatial simulation methods leveraging a rule-based representation or Markov chain aggregation and hybrid approximations. Any of the following skills would be much appreciated: Programming experience on big machines, training in biology, biophysics or bioinformatics, training in machine learning or statistics. Candidates with a master in mathematics, statistics, computer science, physics or engineering that want to work in an interdisciplinary team are encouraged to apply. The gross yearly salary is around 56kEuro. Positions will be filled as soon as possible.
