The European Commission has recently issued a call for experts who may be appointed members of Horizon 2020 advisory groups. Individuals can apply as acting in personal capacity, as representing a common interest or as representing an organisation. Some of the advisory groups will certainly have an impact on European mathematics, e.g. Future and Emerging Technologies, Marie-Curie actions and Research infrastructures, including e-infrastructures.
It is important that the advisory groups build on expertise that is recognized by the scientific community. The EMS has started a consultation with its corporate member societies with the aim to facilitate the proposal of representative well-esteemed experts.
