Description
To work with the algebra and geometry team of the Laboratoire de Mathématiques et de leurs Applications in Pau, UMR CNRS 5142, in one of the research areas in algebraic geometry and geometric topology covered by the team, in connection with the ANR project GEOLMI. Some of these areas are:
Linear Matrix Inequalities
Projective geometry, determinantal varieties
Vector bundles, moduli spaces, derived categories
Hyperplane arrangements, their topology and geometry
Plane algebraic curves
Knot theory, singularities
The applicant is expected to take an effective part in all the team's research activities.
Type of position / salary
Post-doctoral full-time position, no teaching duties. Approximate salary of 2500 euro per month (before taxes, probably around 2300 euro after taxes).
Requested qualifications
Ph. D. in mathematics or equivalent, with specialization in some area of algebra, algebraic geometry, geometric topology
Starting date / duration
September 1, 2013 (flexible). The position is for 12 months.
