Starting from Fall 2013, one PostDoc position and two PhD positions will be available for three years in the Algebraic Geometry Group of Herwig Hauser at the Faculty of Mathematics of Vienna University, see www.hh.hauser.cc.
PostDoc: Candidates should have obtained their PhD not earlier than 2009. A broad background in Commutative Algebra and/or Algebraic Geometry is expected. Having done independent research in these fields is an asset. Special emphasis is laid on capacities to contribute to the goals of the research group, to communicate mathematical contents and to guide students and young researchers.
Local Geometry of Algebraic Varieties, Complex Analytic Geometry, Resolution of Singularities in zero and positive characteristic, Artin Approximation and Arc Spaces, Infinite Dimensional Algebraic and Differential Geometry, Commutative Algebra Methods in Combinatorics.
Send single pdf-file (max. 3 pages) with CV and photograph, list of publications and description of research interests until end of July 2013 to email@example.com. Avoid standardized formulations – rather try to communicate your individual mathematical horizon and perspective.
