Conference on the Foundations of Computational Mathematics (FoCM'11)

Monday, July 4, 2011 - 5:00am to Thursday, July 14, 2011 - 3:00pm

The FoCM’11 conference is organized by the Society for the Foundations of Computational Mathematics,
and is seventh in a sequence that so far includes the Park City, Utah (1995), Rio de Janeiro
(1997), Oxford (1999), Minneapolis (2002), Santander (2005), and Hong Kong (2008) meetings. FoCM
conferences have established themselves as the main vehicle in the exploration of the broad interface
between mathematics and contemporary computation, a subject area of tremendous importance both
intellectually and to applications. They have also demonstrated a reputation for scholarly excellence,
without an equal in computational mathematics. We have every intention to build upon previous FoCM
conferences and to make FoCM’11 a unique meeting point of specialists in computational mathematics
and of researchers in mathematics and in computer science. By means of plenary talks by some of
the foremost world authorities and workshops of the highest technical level, the emphasis will be on
multidisciplinary interaction across subjects and disciplines, in an informal and friendly atmosphere. It is
expected that about 4-500 researchers will attend the conference from around the world.
