Doctoral position in Compressive Sensing and Quantitative Magnetic Resonance Imaging

The Chair for Mathematics of Information Processing at RWTH Aachen University is presently looking for candidates for a doctoral position. The research associated to this position will be concerned with compressive sensing, uncertainty quantification and robust optimization in the context of quantitative magnetic resonance imaging. This is a joint project together with the Chair of Applied and Numerical Analysis at the Technical University of Munich and with GE Healthcare funded by BMBF.

Candidates are expected to have a strong mathematical background in one or more of the following areas: compressive sensing, nonlinear (numerical) optimization, mathematical signal processing, (high-dimensional) probability theory, mathemat- ical foundations of machine learning. Programming skills and experience are required. Moreover, interest in applications and, in particular, in magnetic resonance is expected.
Candidates are expected to contribute to the teaching duties of the chair at a moderate level. Knowledge of the German language will not be necessary in the beginning, but candidates are expected to develop sufficient German skills during the first 2 years.

Salary: 75% of TVL 13
