PhD position in Geometry
The Chair of Geometry / Algebra at the Department of Mathematics, University of Fribourg (Prof. Ruth Kellerhals) invites applications for one
Ph.D. Position / assistant position
starting as soon as possible. The successful candidate has a strong back- ground in geometry and algebra. Familiarity with one of the following areas is an advantage: Riemannian geometry and especially hyperbolic geometry, discrete geometry, geometric group theory and Coxeter groups.
Candidates must have a validated master degree in mathematics or an equivalent education. Beside the doctoral project, the successful candidate will be occupied with moderate teaching (exercise courses, collaboration in seminars) and service for the library.
A good command of German or French or the willingness to learn one of the two languages within a relatively short period of time is required.
