PhD Position in Geometry
At the Institute of Mathematics at the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science of the Friedrich Schiller University Jena the following position is available from October 1, 2020:
This PhD position is funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG, German Research Foundation) research grant "Curvature Measures in Convex and Integral Geometry". The topics of the possible projects lie at the interface of convex geometry, differential geometry and representation theory.
you work both in a team and independently on research projects, the results of which you present at scientific conferences and publish in international journals.
you are working on your doctorate in an international and dynamic research environment
you participate in the organizational tasks of the chair, the institute and the faculty
Master's degree in Mathematics with very good results
excellent command of English
previous knowledge in the fields of convex geometry, differential geometry, or representation theory is desired.

The contracts will initially be for three years. The position is within the TV-L E 13 German public sector pay scale and is offered at a 75% base.
