PhD position in Mathematics/Applied Mathematics/Theoretical Physics

The group led by Philippe Jacquod in the Department of Quantum Matter Physics at the University of Geneva/the Institute of Sustainable Energy at the University of Applied Sciences of Western Switzerland in Sion invites applications for a PhD position in theoretical physics/applied mathematics. The starting date is as soon as possible but no earlier than May 1st, 2020. The successful candidate should hold a Master degree in theoretical physics, mathematics/applied mathematics or a degree judged equivalent. She/he will be appointed for a period of up to four years and funded by a grant from the Swiss National Science Foundation.

The main topic of interest of the group are: coupled dynamical systems on complex graphs; dynamic, stability, control and other aspects of electric power grids; noise and disturbance propagation in complex systems.
