The Weierstrass Institute for Applied Analysis and Stochastics (WIAS) is an institute of the Forschungsverbund Berlin e.V. (FVB). The FVB comprises eight non-university research institutes in Berlin which are funded by the federal and state governments. The research institutes are members of the Leibniz Association.

PhD student position

in the Research Group

“Interacting Random Systems”

(Head: Prof. Dr. W. König) starting at the earliest possible date (Ref. 13/32).

We are looking for an applicant with a university degree in mathematics (master or diploma), very good knowledge of probability and some background in analysis, mathematical physics or telecommunications. The successful applicant will carry out research on large interacting random systems. Possible research topics include connectivity and capacity in large mobile ad hoc systems, random motions in random media, interacting many-body systems and more.
