Ph.D. student position in the ERC Advanced Grant FEALORA

A four-year Ph.D. student position is available, with the goal to support the elaboration of the applicant's Ph.D. Thesis in the framework of the European Research Council Advanced Grant

The successful candidates will enroll in the PhD program of the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics of the Charles University in Prague. Note that many courses at Charles University are given in English, so any knowledge of the Czech language is not required.

The Institute of Mathematics of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic in Prague will provide them with office space and salary. The thesis will be supervised by the principal investigator of the project (or by one of his co-investigators). The students are expected to research problems related to the project. Further, they should also take part in other activities of the research group of the Institute of Mathematics such as the seminars and workshops.

Applications are invited from candidates who have completed, or will complete their master degree in Mathematics, or Theoretical Computer Science before December 30, 2014, and who have good knowledge of mathematical logic and/or computational complexity. At least basic knowledge of English is required.
