Postdoc in Numerics, JGU Mainz
Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position at the Johannes Gutenberg-University Mainz in the new research group of Prof. Markus Bachmayr, with starting date as soon as possible.
Candidates should have a background in the numerical analysis of PDEs and research interests in high-dimensional approximation, model order reduction, and/or uncertainty quantification. Proficiency in scientific programming is expected. The institute of mathematics at JGU offers a stimulating research environment with opportunities for interdisciplinary collaborations in the natural sciences.
This is a full position remunerated according to TV-L E 13. It comes with the standard teaching load of 4 hours per week. As courses are to be taught primarily in German, sufficient knowledge of German is required.
The initial appointment will be for a period of two years, with the possibility of an extension.
