Postdoc position, Université de Mons, Belgium

The Belgian science foundation (FNRS) will be funding a two-year project Algebraic structures in Linear dynamics at the University of Mons. As part of this project there is a postdoc position for the period of October 2016-September 2018. A later start (for example in January 2017) is also possible but does not prolong the project.

There are two formal requirements for the candidates:

  • having obtained the PhD between October 2010 and September 2016
  • having spent not more than 24 months out of the last 36 months in Belgium (for tax reasons)
  • knowledge of French is not required but would be helpful

Preference will be given to candidates with a PhD on a topic in Operator theory, Functional analysis or Complex analysis. The project will be concerned with questions in Linear dynamics (see the books 'Linear chaos' by K. Grosse-Erdmann and A. Peris and 'Dynamics of linear operators' by F. Bayart and E. Matheron).

Interested candidates should send a CV (including a list of publications) and the name of one person that may be contacted for a letter of reference to Karl Grosse-Erdmann at kg.grosse-erdmann@umons.ac.be
