POSTDOC POSITION within the ERC-Advanced Grant

“From Open to Closed Loop Optimal Control of PDEs”

Institute of Mathematics and Scientific Computing
University of Graz

About the project: The project addresses a broad spectrum in optimal control of PDEs and focusses on some of the most pressing topics: Non-smooth, non-convex optimal control and computational techniques for feedback control, possibly based on high-dimensional Hamilton Jacobi Bellman equations. Applications include the bidomain equations, which are the established model to describe the electrical activity of the heart.

Professional qualifications: Doctoral degree in a mathematical branch of study. Solid knowledge in applied mathematics, including PDEs, with specialization in either analytical or computational techniques. Specialization in optimal control, calculus of variations, or optimization is very welcome.
