# Postdoctoral position in algebraic geometry (in a broad sense)

The Mathematics Department of the Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB, Brussels) is looking to hire a post-doc in the field of algebraic geometry (in a broad sense). The successful candidate will have to perform high quality and independent research in this field.

There is a significant teaching load attached to this position, including courses in algebra and geometry (for bachelor and master students in mathematics) and a general mathematics course (for non mathematics students). The total teaching load is at most 90 hours theory/year (if the candidate has obtained his PhD after 30/09/2014) or 120 hours theory/year (PhD defense before 01/10/2014). The 3 or 4 courses that need to be taught will be fixed as a function of the successful candidate's specialty. The preferred teaching language is French.

The starting date for this one-year position is: October 1st, 2017. The end date for this one-year position is: September 30th, 2018.

Requirements:

1. PhD in Mathematics, Sciences or equivalent
2. High scientific level in mathematics
3. Excellent teaching abilities (preferably in French)
4. Good interaction with other teaching staff
