Postdoctoral position at Oxford.
The Mathematical Institute, University of Oxford, invites applications for a Post-doctoral Research Fellow, funded by the EPSRC, to work in the Centre for Quantum Mathematics and Computation. The position is for two years. The successful candidate must be in post by 1 October 2013.
The PDRF will work on projects related to areas of the EPSRC grant supporting the Centre (see Further Particulars), under the leadership of Christopher Douglas and Kobi Kremnizer. The PDRF will be a member of the Centre and will be expected to take part in its activities, and therefore to have an interest in both quantum topology and algebra and their application to problems in theoretical physics and computer science.
The successful candidate will be expected to have a PhD in mathematics or mathematical physics either awarded or submitted at the time of taking up the post in one of the broad areas of the Centre – algebraic topology, quantum topology, quantum algebra, representation theory, or mathematical physics. We are looking for a candidate with a good research and publication record, judged by the stage in his or her career, who will be able to work as part of an interdisciplinary team.
As part of the online application, the applicant will be required to upload a statement setting out how she or he meets the selection criteria, a curriculum vitae including a list of publications and details of teaching experience, a statement of research interests, and the names and contact details of two referees.
