Subject to budgetary approval, the Faculty of Mathematics and the Laboratory of Algebraic Geometry and its Applications at the National Research University Higher School of Economics anticipate several faculty position openings at the post-doctoral level.
The National Research University Higher School of Economics is a leading government funded university in Russia. The Faculty of Mathematics was opened in 2008. Since then, it has become a leading place in Russia for attracting researchers in Mathematics and mathematical students. We have Bachelors’, Masters’ and Ph.D. programs in Mathematics. The department collaborates with the Steklov Mathematical Institute and the Institute for Information Transmission Problems of the Russian Academy of Sciences (world renowned research institutes) and has student exchange programs with the Ecole Polytechnique in Paris and the University of Kyoto. Jointly with the Independent University of Moscow, the department publishes the Moscow Mathematical Journal and runs “Math in Moscow”, an international student exchange program. Laboratory of Algebraic Geometry is an independent research body within the NRU HSE working in active cooperation with the European and American research universities.
We invite applications from all areas of mathematics. Applicants are supposed to have established track record in mathematics, a PhD degree in mathematics, proficiency in English, and publications in good journals. There may be a very mild teaching load (in English or Russian). Competition is open to applicants of any citizenship; knowledge of Russian is welcome, but not necessary.
