Postdoctoral Research Associate in Mathematical Physics

We invite applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate with a comprehensive background in Mathematical Physics and/or probability theory, to work alongside Professor Jon Keating (PI) at the Mathematical Institute, University of Oxford.

The successful candidate will be supported by an ERC Advanced Programme Grant: “Log Correlations and Random Matrices (LogCorRM)”. This is a full-time, 2 year fixed-term position, with the expectation that the postholder will be in post by September 2020.

Applicants will be expected to have, or be close to completing, a PhD in Mathematical Physics or Probability Theory, or related areas, and must be able to articulate ideas clearly and logically together with the ability to perform mathematical calculations in the area. They will possess sufficient specialist knowledge in the discipline to work within established research programme, and have the ability not only to manage their own academic research and associated activities, but also to contribute ideas for new research projects and research income generation. The postholder will have excellent communication skills, including the ability to write for publications, present research proposals and results, and represent the research group at meetings, ideally gained through previous experience of contributing to publications and/or presentations.
