Postdoctoral Researcher in Mathematical Analysis
The Mathematical Analysis Research Group and the Centre of Excellence in Analysis and Dynamics Research, Department of Mathematical Sciences, University of Oulu, Finland, invite applications for
1-2 postdoctoral research positions in mathematical analysis
The positions will be filled from June 1st 2015, or later according to a mutual agreement, and the
appointments will be for two years.
The work consists of at least 90 percent of research and no more than 10 percent of teaching. The positions involve research in at least one of the following areas:
• Geometric measure theory, fractal geometry, dynamics or random structures
• Abstract harmonic analysis
A prospective postdoctoral researcher is expected to have a PhD degree by the time she or he will
be employed, and the doctoral degree certificate is required to have been issued after January 1st
2010. Proficiency in spoken and written English is a requirement.
The salary is based on the teaching and research personnel requirement levels 5-6 in the Salary
System of Finnish Universities. The base salary is 2852 or 3326 euros. In addition there is a
personal performance supplement of up to 46.3 %. The expected salary is 3311-4061 euros.
Additional funding will be available for international collaboration and mobility.
