# Postdoctoral Researcher in Numerical Linear Algebra and HPC

The Faculty of Mathematics and Physics at Charles University in Prague invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher position within the framework of the Primus Research Program "Scalable and Accurate Numerical Linear Algebra for Next-Generation Hardware".

Applications are invited from candidates who have strong background in numerical linear algebra, numerical analysis, or parallel computing. In particular, we seek applicants with expertise in sparse iterative solvers, algorithm design, high-performance computing, numerical optimization, machine learning, finite precision analysis, and/or computational and data science application areas.

The initial appointment period is 2 years, with possibility of extension. The anticipated start date is September 2019, although this is negotiable. By the start date the applicant must hold a PhD degree. The gross salary expected for the position is 50,000 CZK (about 1,950 EUR) per month, an ample amount relative to the cost-of-living in the Czech Republic.
