Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Oulu, developing methods for complex multipoint calibration
The Faculty of Science at the University of Oulu is announcing an open postdoctoral position, which will be located at the Research Unit of Mathematical Sciences (http://www.oulu.fi/mathematics/). The appointee will work in close collaboration with the Centre for Wireless Communications (CWC, https://www.oulu.fi/cwc) and Center for Machine Vision and Signal Analysis (CMVS, https://www.oulu.fi/cmvs/) at the Faculty of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering (ITEE, http://www.oulu.fi/itee).
The postdoctoral position is for 18 months and is aimed to start on September 2020 or as soon as possible thereafter.
Description of the position
The research project "Developing methods for complex multipoint calibration, applications in radio frequency (RF) system architectures" aims at developing and applying methodologies of data science and artificial intelligence to tackle research problems related to multipoint calibration problems. More specifically, the aim is to optimize system performance in extremely complex large-scale mm-wave RF architectures where high-dimensional control parameters typically operate non-linearly, time varying and can have high dimensional interactions in noisy environment.
A Ph.D. (or equivalent) in Computational or Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Electrical Engineering or another field relevant to the position.
The candidate is expected to have computational orientation and extensive knowledge in machine learning and artificial intelligence methods. Experience with embedded systems and wireless or RF communications are also considered as an advantage.
Special emphasis will be given to research expertise within the subject field, demonstrated by an international publications record. Some post-doctoral experience is of advantage, but the applicant should have attained a Ph.D. no more than ten years before the end of the application period. Experience on multidisciplinary research, work abroad and other international experience will be regarded as an asset.
Applications should be submitted by 31th of July 2020. More information about the position and instructions for application:
