Research check type A "Stochastic processes on random structures and applications"

A selection announcement has been published to award n.1 research grant for the research project entitled “Stochastic processes on random structures and applications” to be conducted at the Department of Mathematics “Tullio Levi-Civita” under the supervision of Professor Prof.ssa Alessandra Bianchi, who is the Research Project Supervisor.

The research grant, which shall last for 12 months and be for a gross amount for the grant holder of 21.100 Euro per annum, is issued in accordance with the current Regulations Governing Research Grant Awards pursuant to Art. 22 of Law no. 240/2010 for the aforementioned research project, in University Scientific Area no. 1 Mathematics and informatics and Scientific Sector and Discipline SSD MAT/06 - Probability and statistics.
The purpose of this research grant, which is funded by Progetto SID 2019 DM – Bianchi “Stochastic processes and applications to disordered systems”, by funds of the Department of Mathematics “Tullio Levi-Civita” and by funds of the Agreement between University of Padova – Department of Mathematics “Tullio Levi-Civita” and University of Bologna “Alma Mater” – Department of Mathematics, is to grant research into: “The dynamics of disordered systems can be modeled by suitable stochastic processes defined on spaces of states that group the main physical characteristics of the system. These spaces can be randomized once in order to describe the intrinsic disorder of the system. The aim of the research is the description, in probabilistic terms, of the dynamics of some of these models, in particular: 1) systems with anomalous diffusion; 2) metastable systems. In both areas we want to derive appropriate convergence theorems and related results”.
