The Imperial Centre for Cardiovascular Disease Prevention (ICCP) is a recently established Unit within the Department of Primary Care and Public Health that focuses on cardiovascular research, ultimately aiming the prevention of cardiovascular disease in the community. It coordinates and leads national and international large registries and cohort studies, is involved in different clinical trials, and is actively engaged in evidence-synthesis and policy development on cardiovascular disease prevention.
Imperial’s Global eHealth Unit is at the forefront of the introduction and implementation of IT innovation into health care systems. Based within the Department of Primary Care and Public Health, the unit is involved in local London, national and international collaborations involving interdisciplinary and cross-boundary research.
The post holder will be responsible for the development, maintenance and substantial extension of software packages, to support several research projects run by the Imperial Centre for Cardiovascular Disease Prevention. The post holder will work close with the Global eHealth Unit for this purpose, within the framework of the interdisciplinary collaboration established between both Units. You will support the Database Designer and Developer and will integrate with other staff involved in the research projects (e.g. clinicians, statisticians, study coordinators).
The post holder will mainly support the development and expansion of software components to establish an international patient registry database/data warehouse as part of a large research project looking at the management of chronic diseases.
The post holder should have a BSc in Computing, Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline, and preferably an MSc in Computing, Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline. The post holder will have an outstanding level of accuracy and attention to detail and will be confident with data security and data confidentiality.
This is a full time, fixed term post for 18 months in the first instance. The post is based at the Charing Cross Campus in Hammersmith.
