A tenure track professorship at Graz University of Technology for the field of
Algorithmic Number Theory/Algebraic Geometry at the Faculty of
Mathematics, Physics and Geodesy is to be filled pursuant to § 99 para. 5 of the
The position, is initially restricted to six years as a University Assistant with Doctorate, 40 hours per week and the successful candidate is expected to start on 01.03.2020, at the Institute of Analysis and Number Theory.
Upon agreement on a qualification agreement, the candidate will be appointed as assistant
professor. As soon as the qualification agreement has been fulfilled, the position will be converted into a tenured position as associate professor.
Required academic qualification:
PhD or equivalent in Mathematics.
The successful candidate should also possess the following qualifications:
Research in Algorithmic Number Theory and/or Algebraic Geometry, experience in research and teaching on postdoctoral level, ability to cooperate with the relevant research groups at TU Graz and Graz University, sufficient knowledge of German.
The position will involve the following duties:
Representation of the subject Algorithmic Number Theory and/or Algebraic Geometry in research and teaching, participation in the teaching for engineering studies and studies of mathematics, participation in the administration.
The position will be paid according to category B1 of the collective agreement for employees of Austrian universities, stipulating a gross salary of € 4.214,50 (14 x per year).
