The Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science at Heidelberg University invites applications for a
Tenure Track Professorship (W1 with Tenure Track to W3) for Mathematical Statistics
to be filled by 31.05.2021.
The research interests of successful applicants should complement the existing research groups at the Institute of Applied Mathematics in the area of mathematical statistics. Participation in the existing graduate school and the Interdisciplinary Center for Scientific Computing (IWR) is desired.
Applicants are expected to have an excellent publication and research record. Participation in teaching is required at all levels.
The hiring requirements of Section 51 Landeshochschulgesetz Baden-Württemberg (the Baden-Württemberg State Higher Education Act) apply. If you spent time employed as a research assistant (before or after your doctorate), this employment and the period of your doctoral studies combined should not exceed six years.
The Tenure Track Professorship (salary grade W1) will initially be limited to six years and, following a positive tenure evaluation, will be converted to a permanent W3 professorship. Provided that the general legal (German civil service law) and budgetary regulations are fulfilled, it is intended that the employment will have civil service status. This professorship is funded by the Tenure Track Programme of the German Federal Government and the Federal States.
