Two year postdoctoral position at the University of Helsinki

The multifaceted research carried out at the Department of Mathematics and Statistics has received the highest points in several evaluations. The department collaborates actively with other universities, as well as with many research institutes in the sector, both at home and abroad. The department belongs to the Faculty of Science.

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics invites applications for


position for a fixed-term period of two years (September 2018 – August 2020) to work in the Academy of Finland project Topological Geometric Function theory (TGFT). The position´s main focus is on research in the broad area of quasiconformal geometry/analysis, geometric topology, metric geometry, and geometric function theory. In addition to research, a postdoctoral researcher has a yearly teaching commitment of 81 contact hours.


The salary is determined based on an applicant´s qualifications and experience, but the starting salary is typically in the range 3300 – 3700€.
