Shaw Prize 2011 awarded to Christodoulou and Hamilton

The Shaw Prize in the Mathematical Sciences 2011 is awarded in equal shares to Demetrios Christodoulou (ETH Zurich) and to Richard S Hamilton (Columbia Univ., NY) for their highly innovative works on nonlinear partial differential equations in Lorentzian and Riemannian geometry and their applications to general relativity and topology.

Hamilton is an internationally respected mathematician, who is also known for his contribution to the eventual proof of the Poincare conjecture. I am glad that he is being recognized as an out standing mathematician.
However, it is well known that the work of Christodoulou on Riemannian geometry as highly questionable and in 1995 his "proof' for the existence of bounded dynamic solutions for the Einstein equation has been proven as invalid and the claimed results are proven incorrect. In fact, there is also no gravitational wave solution. Thus, the award to him a prize in mathematics manifested that there are deficiencies of members of the Shaw award Committee in certain areas of mathematics. They are not only out-dated in mathematics, but also wrong. I hope they can face their own errors and do a service to the public by admitting them.
