Professor Stefan Dodunekov passed away on August 5.
Dodunekov, a specialist in coding theory, was the president of the Union of Bulgarian mathematicians and the director of the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. He had recently been elected president of the Academy of Sciences. Dodunekov played a very important role in the development of the Mathematical Society of South-Eastern Europe (MASSEE).
